Using Report Scrap it is possible to report when there is a need for scrapping the produced parts or the component parts. Then the system will capture the reason for scrap and the qty scrapped for those operations in the shop order and update the required qty for the operation.
If only a part of the quantity in an inventory location is issued, the user will have to manually issue the components before reporting scrap.
If any of the components being issued by the backflush feature is catch unit enabled, the full quantity in the inventory part location must be issued to complete this activity. The operation must be connected to the material line.
If the operation is connected to a component line, and that component line is not issued prior to reporting the operations, it will be issued using the backflush feature.
This operation requires that the shop order has at least Released status. The operation cannot have a Closed status.
If the Over Reporting list is set to Not Allowed on the Inventory Part/Manufacturing tab, the sum of the reported quantity complete and scrap must be equal to, or less than, the planned operation quantity plus the defined over-report tolerance.
When the user selects an operation and presses Report Scrap there are two options to choose from. Report Component Scrap and Report Part Scrap. The shop order details can be seen.
When the user wants to scrap components reserved for a shop order the user can select the 'Component' option and then the material for that operation is shown and can be selected from the drop-down. Next, the qty to scrap and the scrap reason are selected. In this step, the shop order details regarding that component are shown.
When the user wants to scrap a part against the selected operation, the 'Part' option is selected. Then the Qty to scrap is entered with the scrap reason. Notes can be entered as well.
Similar functionalities are available for mobile clients as well. The user has the possibility to attach images for the operations where they reported scrap using mobile.
