# Create component

Components serve as building blocks for creating reusable features and functionality that can be leveraged across multiple applications.

Components can be created inside an application package or in the application library. Components inside a package can be used in all applications in the same package but are not visible to applications in other packages. \
Components in the application library can be shared with all applications in the organization.

To create a new local component that can be utilized by all applications in the package, click the plus button in the **Assets** section, and select **Component**.

Enter the name, description and a color of the component.

Assets can be tagged with new or existing tags to help organize your components.
